Kathy Doyle
Kathleen’s teaching career now spans almost four decades, with the first three spent working with Delaware high school teachers and students. For the last ten years, she has been writing children’s books and teaching folks about the environment and native plants. She earned her Master of Arts in Teaching Secondary Social Studies at Brown University where she studied with renowned education reformer Theodore Sizer. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Social Thought and Political Economy at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst where she grew to love history (her least favorite subject in high school), and where her interest in social and environmental justice was nurtured. Kathy has taken numerous classes about native plants, and has an Ecological Gardening Certificate from Mt. Cuba. She is also a graduate of The Institute of Children’s Literature.
