Nothing Less: Delaware, Women’s Suffrage, and Equal Rights
2020 marked the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, which states that “The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex”.
Men, their rights, and nothing more; women, their rights, and nothing less.
Susan B. Anthony, The Revolution, January 8, 1868
Delaware Humanities developed the original panel exhibit Nothing Less, which examines Delaware’s history with women’s suffrage, its unique role in the passage of the 19th Amendment, the Equal Rights Amendment, and general voting rights in the United States.
