IDENTITY: Community Perspectives on Delaware’s History
From now until September 2022, Delaware Humanities will be hosting events as part of the national A More Perfect Union initiative. This National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH)’s A More Perfect Union initiative encourages projects that explore, reflect on, and tell the stories of our quest for a more just, inclusive, and sustainable society throughout our history. NEH especially welcomes projects that bring the perspective of the humanities to questions of racial justice, gender equality, the evolution of the American landscape, as well as America’s place in the world.
Delaware’s execution of this program is titled “IDENTITY: Community Perspectives on Delaware’s History,” where we will focus on projects that examine the lived experiences of Delawareans that impact their intersectional identities under the umbrella of our four core concepts:
- Environment & Health
- Culture & Community
- Media & Democracy
- Stories & Histories
Our goals for A More Perfect Union are to offer enduring resources to our communities, promote civil discourse, preserve our mutual histories, and increase our understanding of identity and its impact on civic life.
