Position

Delaware Humanities seeks an emerging, enthusiastic humanities professional to serve as a Culture, Community, and Museums Specialist working with our small staff to advance the humanities throughout the First State. Offered in collaboration with the Delaware Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs, Delaware Humanities and the Delaware Museum Association, this 1-year full-time position may continue if funding permits and will focus on providing capacity-building workshops, networking opportunities, and advocacy coordination for small to mid-sized humanities organizations and museums from all three of Delaware’s counties.

We seek a highly organized and motivated leader with a passion for understanding the ways humanities organizations explore, collect, document, and share items representing the human experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, work well both with a team and independently, and manage time and resources efficiently.

The primary objective of this position is to build the capacity, network, and visibility of history, culture, and museum organizations throughout Delaware. Working with board members of the Delaware Museum Association and staff members of Delaware Humanities, the position will create enrichment and connection opportunities for organizations that serve as hubs of culture, collections, stories, and information for their communities. This position reports to the Executive Director of Delaware Humanities and works with and is supported by the staff of Delaware Humanities.
