Elizabeth Higginbotham

Originally from New York, where she did her undergraduate degree before getting a doctorate in Sociology at Brandeis University.  Elizabeth Higginbotham has taught in different places before settling in Delaware in 1998.  Her university teaching included topics such as race, gender, ethnicity, social class, work and poverty. As a social scientist with a strong commitment to the Humanities, she is on the Scholars Advisory Council for the National Museum of Women’s History.  Locally, she was on the board of Market Street Music and recently joined the board for the Delaware Historical Society.  She is excited about sharing her skills with the wider public as people talk about historical and current events that shape our communities.
