Community Conservation Workshop 3 – Repair

PAST EVENT

Sunday, February 2, 2025
1:15 – 4:15 pm
New Castle County

This is the third in a series of three workshops. Attend one, two or all three.

Come learn simple methods to protect, clean and repair your treasured objects. With the guidance of conservators from the University of Delaware, you work on restoring your own treasures. A treasure that needs some cleaning or repair and is no larger than a brown paper grocery bag is perfect for this event. (No broken electronics please.) If you would like to discuss the object you plan to bring please contact Anisha Gupta, agupta@udel.edu, or Joelle Wickens, jwickens@udel.edu.

We will begin with 45 minutes of hands-on instruction on how to repair treasured objects, things like torn paper and photographs, torn and fraying textiles, broken dishes, and broken small wooden objects. Bring an object that needs to be repaired and workshop leaders will work with you to devise a plan to repair it. Or continue to work on the object you started in workshop 1 or 2.

Registration is Required

This event is supported by a grant from Delaware Humanities. If you have any questions about the event, please contact the host organization.
