Nothing Less: Delaware, Women’s Suffrage, and Equal Rights

2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, which states that “The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex”.  Delaware Humanities will take this upcoming year to discuss suffrage, voting rights, and equal rights from the first women’s rights convention in the United States in 1848 to today.

Exhibit

Delaware Humanities has developed the original panel exhibit Nothing Less, which examines Delaware’s history with women’s suffrage, its unique role in the passage of the 19th Amendment, the Equal Rights Amendment, and general voting rights in the United States. A limited quantity of physical copies of the panel exhibit are available.  The exhibit is also available as a PDF.  To be eligible for a copy, your organization must be planning a program related to suffrage, voting rights, and/or equal rights in 2020.  You can view more information and request a copy of the exhibit here.

Programs

In addition to the exhibit, Delaware Humanities will be hosting events and programs throughout 2020.  Be sure to check back here and check our calendar for event information.  To receive the most up-to-date information directly to your inbox, sign up for our emails.
