Join us at the New Castle Public Library as we discuss the novel Stay With Me by Ayobami Adebayo. Set in Nigeria between the 1980s and 2008, Stay With Me follows the story of Yejide and Akin. While the couple fell in love easily, their attempt to have a child has been fraught with difficulties. The sacrifices both end up making go beyond anyone’s, including the readers’, expectations. The book has won many awards, including The New York Times’ Critics’ Top Books of the Year and Best Book of the Year by San Francisco Chronicle, National Public Radio, The Economist, Buzzfeed, and Southern Living. You can visit Goodreads for more information about the book.

The Delaware Young Playwrights Festival (DYPF) is a program designed to provide an outlet for DE students grades 8-12 to get the professional playwright treatment! From standards-based feedback on first-round drafts to thorough workshops with industry professionals, playwrights selected in DTC’s festival bring their ideas from page to stage.
The five playwrights of these plays were selected as finalists in the 2018-2019 Delaware Young Playwrights Festival (DYPF). The finalists will participate in a series of playwriting workshops with professional theatre artists from Delaware Theatre Company to further refine their writing and ready their works for a free public showcase performance on March 7, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. on the DTC stage.
