In McKay Jenkins’ 30 years of writing about the natural world, he has come to know the beauty of the First State.
Dr. Jenkins also has become a leading expert on the rising threats to that beauty, including toxic chemicals, water pollution and climate change. His books include “Food Fight: GMOs and the Future of the American Diet,” “ContamiNation” and “Poison Spring.” Now, Jenkins is taking his work to the next level. Jenkins will talk about his latest project, and how you can join him.

The Raising Kings Conference 2019 will be the 8th annual event by One Village Alliance, consisting of a powerful series of forums honoring the historic contributions of men and boys of color, while celebrating “Black History in the Making.” Launched over the MLK holiday, the conference represents a commitment to empowering the next generation of King-like leaders; self-aware social activists, and revolutionary thought leaders. The 2019 Conference will offer break-out sessions, performances, a basketball tournament, and serves as the centerpiece of all the Raising Kings 2019 events.

The screening of the first of a six-part series “Time: The Khalief Browder Story” will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the Delaware Art Museum. It will be followed by a panel discussion.
